A career break is a big issue for women in the state of Kerala and according to Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC). The estimates report of K-DISC shows that though women dominate the higher education sector in the state, they constitute only 15.6 million of the 30 million employed in Kerala. In Kerala, there is five lakh such women have career break issues.

The Government of Kerala and Kerala's Knowledge Mission is going to organize a C2C Job fair (Come back to Career) for women, which aims at empowering women job seekers, especially those who are struggling to get back to careers after a career break.

To reinduct them into the mainstream workforce, Kerala's Knowledge Mission is going to organize a first-of-its-kind exclusive job fair for women, "Back 2 career - Job fair Career Break Women" which aims at empowering women job seekers, especially those who are struggling to get back to careers after a career break. The event will be conducted in Thiruvananthapuram on December 21, Kozhikode on January 10 and  Kochi on January 16

"The 70% of our higher education sector, except engineering, are dominated by women. So, where do these women disappear when it comes to the employment sector? This is an alarming scenario. With the help of the job fair, the attempt is to address this and it's a continuous process," said Kerala Startup Mission project director P M Riyas.

‚ÄčThe Vision of K-DISC, initiated by the Government of Kerala is to offer a platform for women workforce, enabling them to work at their convenience like work from home, work near home, freelance or part-time. The Mission Targets to induct the five lakh women back into careers in five years.

The portal is set up jointly by K-DISC and Kerala Digital University already has 33,000 registrations, which will be made use of for the job fair.
